Fiorentina (@5.0) vs Juventus (@1.75)

Our Prediction:

Juventus will win

Fiorentina – Juventus Match Prediction | 15-09-2019 09:00

Fiorentinas last league win came in February, which means that they have been winless in Serie A for more than six months. The likes of Federico Chiesa need to step up. The fans desperately need a win to improve the atmosphere around the club.

On top of that, we think the visitors will claim a comfortable win here. With Fiorentina conceding three goals per game this season, we are backing Juve to claim a 3-1 victory in this trip. The champions have had a fantastic record against Fiorentina over the years, while the gulf between the two sides should be fully on show here.

Like the rival of this match, the visiting club generally plays with a tactical design in 4-3-3, with three high quality players in the attack front: Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuan and Douglas Costa. Matuidi, Pjanic and Khedira play in the midfield. Juventus comes to this motivated match, after a 4-3 home victory against Napoli: Danilo, Higuan, Ronaldo and Koulibaly (goal in own goal) scored the goals. The visiting coach may not count on Perin, Chiellini, De Sciglio, Ramsey and Pjaca, due to injury.

Now on a run of form that has seen them fail to win any of their last 16 Serie A matches and Juventus once again setting down an early marker in Italys top-tier, were backing a comfortable afternoon for the defending champions. With Fiorentina still drastically struggling at the start of the new campaign and now losing back-to-back appearances, the mood in their camp remains at a worrying low and Saturday could prove to be another extremely long afternoon.

Form Summary

The last time we saw Juventus playing two weeks ago, they were on their way to showing what its like when everythings clicking as well as what its like when everything is falling apart all within the span of 90 minutes of football. The wild and completely unpredictable 4-3 win over Napoli two Saturdays ago at Allianz Stadium still has me shaking my head when I think about it mainly because its still hard to completely wrap your head around EVERYTHING that happened over the course of that game.

Ribery signed from Bayern after he ended his long stay in Munich. Vincenzo Montella will have to decide whether to start Ribery as he has many options to choose from. The Frenchman is 36 now, but he can still contribute to this Fiorentina outfit. Erick Pulgar scored in that game for Fiorentina, taking his tally to two for the season. New signing Kevin-Prince Boateng started against Genoa and fellow recruit Franck Ribery came off the bench.

In their last 5 clashes in all competitions, they recorded 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw, while scoring 10 goals and conceding 8. Juventus started their campaign impeccably, just like everyone would expect them to do, since they are the big contenders to win the title again, and add one more to their 8 titles in a row streak. Im sure that the visitors will attack powerfully from the very beginning to ensure that they grab all 3 points against the weaker opponent. All those factors lead us to the conclusions that in this match we will also see over 2.5 goals. They were victorious in both matches they played, first against Parma with 0-1, and then against Napoli with 3-4.

A fluid, refreshing football in the first half and a shocking defending, particularly from De Ligt, in the second, that allowed Napoli to score three. Juventus maintained their perfect start to the season after beating Napoli 4-3 at Allianz Stadium. We have seen a lot of positives and negatives in their performance. In the end, guests were unlucky to score an own goal and lose hard-earned point.

Also shipping four in their opening weekend defeat against Napoli, the former Italian giants are one of just three sides yet to get off the mark. On a remarkable run of form that has seen them now fail to win any of their last 16 matches against Serie A opposition, a run that stems back to the 24th of February, it will undoubtedly be their form on home soil giving Montella the biggest headache. Putting in yet another worrying display in their 2-1 loss away at Genoa prior to the international break, Head Coach Vincenzo Montella has increased pressure on his role at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Fiorentina have yet to record a single victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in 2019 and have also failed to find the net in five of their last six matches in Firenze. Starting with Saturdays hosts, after only just avoiding an embarrassing relegation last season and holding just a three-point buffer to help extend their Serie A status, Fiorentina appear to have started where they left off in May.

Finding the net against Napoli last week, the Portuguese icon bagged 21 goals last season and should be confident of extending that run this weekend. Turning to former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri over the summer, one of the biggest issues that the 60-year-old needs to resolve is his sides previously struggles outside of Turin. Picking up a dramatic 4-3 win over Napoli prior to the international break, the Old Lady have opened the new campaign with back-to-back victories and are one of just three sides to hold a 100% start. As for the visitors, marching towards their eighth consecutive domestic crown last season, Juventus are unsurprisingly once again tipped to reclaim their Serie A title. Remarkably, the European giants have won just one of their previous five Serie A matches on the road. However, one man to watch out for this weekend will once again be five-time Ballon dOr winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Im pretty sure nobody does. But I do know this: Ive seen Juventus cough up a second-half lead at the Franchi once before in recent memory. Well, at least those of us who wont be wearing purple come Saturday afternoon. And after that game as well as what we saw two weeks ago I dont really feel like seeing all of that nonsense transpire once again.
