The two main villages in the Killoughy end of the Parish are Blue Ball and Mount Bolus. The two parishes were united in 1784 and today form one parish of Kilcormac and Killoughy of the diocese of Meath. Before 1784 there were two distinct parishes of Killoughey and Ballyboy. Killoughey, officially Killoughy and historically "Killaghy" or "Killahy" (Irish: Cill Achaidh, meaning "church of the field"), is the name of a townland and civil parish south-west of Tullamore in County Offaly, Ireland.

Trumera GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and gaelic football club in County Laois, Ireland. The present Trumera GAA Club was formed at a meeting in Trumera National School in winter 1968. The team reached a county Junior semi-final against Mountmellick in 1927. They lost that game and the team faded out soon afterwards. An earlier version of Trumera was set up at a gathering of interested people in the 1920s.

The name means "way meadow", the way referred to having once been an important cross-country route. This is said to be the origin of the name Cluain na Sl, or Clonaslee. The Sl Dla is an ancient road, thought to lead to Tara, which passes through this area. located some 100 km west of Dublin. The club grounds are at Cappinrush, beside Ballyfin's Roman Catholic church. The current Laois senior hurling players Sean Lowry, John Joe McHugh and Dermot McGill are members of the club as is Oliver Phelan who managed Laois to their 1996 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship.
